Life Has a Way of Changing the Music
I've spent more than three decades making music. Playing guitar, producing records, writing songs, and working with some incredibly talented people along the way.
Music has taken me through a lot of chapters in my life. Some wonderful. Some difficult. But I never imagined I'd find myself writing this particular chapter.
Over the past several months, my health has taken a serious turn. I've been dealing with chronic kidney failure and ongoing medical problems. More recently, I was hospitalized after doctors discovered multiple blood clots in my lungs.
That was a frightening experience.
Thankfully, I'm home now. I'm recovering, taking my medications, and slowly getting stronger. I've even started taking morning walks again, something I've come to appreciate more than I ever expected.
Unfortunately, these health problems have also made it impossible for me to work.
The financial consequences have been significant. Medical bills, medications, rent, and everyday living expenses don't stop when your health takes an unexpected turn.
A few weeks ago, I did something I never imagined I'd have to do: I started a GoFundMe campaign.
And something remarkable happened.
Friends, fellow musicians, and even people I've never met began helping. Through their generosity, we've raised nearly $3,000.
I can't adequately express how grateful I am.
But I'm not out of the woods yet, medically or financially.
So I'm reaching out to the wider music community that has been such an important part of my life.
If you're able to contribute, even a small amount makes a difference. If you can't, sharing my story with another musician or music lover would mean just as much.
