Albro Swift is built on four decades of friendship, songwriting, and a shared love of honest Americana music. The band’s story began in the mid-1980s when Jerry Craft, Brett Habenicht, and Craig Young met at Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, Washington—a school that would later become known as the alma mater of Grammy Award-winning artist Brandi Carlile. Long before then, however, the three friends were writing songs, playing local venues, and building a reputation for energetic live performances that regularly drew packed crowds throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Though life eventually took the members in different directions, the music never stopped. Brett Habenicht and Craig Young have continued writing and performing in Washington, with Craig also working as a producer and recording engineer. Jerry Craft relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he continues producing, mixing, mastering, and writing original music.
Their latest release is a testament to both modern technology and lifelong friendship. Brett recorded the lead vocals at Craig’s studio in Maple Valley before the tracks were sent to Jerry in Nashville, where he mixed and mastered the song. Despite the miles between them, the creative chemistry remains unchanged, proving that great musical partnerships don’t fade with time.
Now, with plans to reunite in Nashville for future performances and recordings, Albro Swift continues doing what they’ve loved since high school: crafting heartfelt Americana built around acoustic guitars, rich harmonies, and stories shaped by four decades of friendship and shared musical experience.
